Oil Pipeline Module (OP) for OilFlow2D has been released.
FIU will employ RiverFlow2D high-tech computer modeling to track Biscayne Bay’s pollution problems.
“ …As part of the project, Florida International University’s Institute of Environment Water Quality Monitoring Laboratory will use a computer model called RiverFlow2D, developed by a Florida-based company called Hydronia. The project was funded by the Environmental Protection Agency and includes FIU, Miami-Dade County and Hydronia. It’s now in the calibration phase and is expected to be ready to start running simulations by the summer of next year …” > read the newspaper article by Adriana Brasileiro.
New Plastic and Particle Trajectory (PT) module. Hydronia incorporated since 2020 the RiverFlow2D™ PT plastic and particle trajectory and fate model to simulate transport and fate of plastics in rivers, estuaries, and coastal areas. The new module incorporates a powerful particle-tracking model that is integrated with the hydrodynamic component of the RiverFlow2D flexible mesh model and also considers density changes over time due to plastic degradation. The PT module can be useful to perform environmental assessments that require an understanding of how current patterns affect the path of plastics and assess potential areas of debris accumulation.
OilFlow2D™ for Oil Spills in Land and Water is now available. It incorporates a powerful particle-tracking model that allows simulating crude oil spills in rivers, estuaries, and coastal waters, considering the effects of evaporation, emulsification, dissolution, dispersion, and interaction with shores. The overland oil flow component can export the oil volumes that enter water bodies allowing integration with the oil spill on the water model to simulate its trajectory and fate in the water.
New GPU Pollutant Transport (PL) module with high-performance capabilities. If you are current with your RiverFlow2D + PL license, please contact us to receive an update.
Urban Drainage (UD) module integrates all the capabilities of the EPA-SWMM Storm Drain model with RiverFlow2D™ model. This allows performing simulations of urban flooding with full and dynamic interaction of the surface runoff with the storm drain network routing.
RiverFlow2D™ for QGIS provides all the tools necessary for generating the flexible mesh, integrating the RiverFlow2D components such as bridges, weirs, gates, culverts, Dam breach, etc., creating professional maps of 2D model results, building animations, all within the QGIS environment.
Flood Simulation for Autodesk InfraWorks: a collaborative effort between Autodesk and Hydronia. It is a limited technology that matches the simplicity of two-dimensional (2D) flood simulations together with an immersive 3D model.
RiverFlow2D™ for Tailings Dam Break Risk Assessments: offers unique tools to evaluate flood risk originating from sudden dam and tailings dam breaks. Selecting one out of 8 non-Newtonian rheological laws, the model can consider virtually all possible tailings ranging from relatively low-density high-water content fluids to granular materials.
